I for sure can tell the difference, try using a blundt damage kit on your steel truncheron, helps a lot. If this wasnt the case why is there different ones in the fist place? Going for full Lucky is, on average, more damage than from Menacing boosts because Menacing is competing with other boosts (your emblems and armor, notably) so you notice that extra 4 a lot less than you would notice a 4 chance to double your damage. The simple fact is they double your damage when they go off. In my opinion this is the exact reason Funcom have implemented different weapon mods, they all have a use specific for them. It doesn't matter how critical hits work. Also, the maxium DPS is 60 dmg and 40 crit at 196. Edit Defense is a statistic that determines the decrease in damage taken per hit. But 50 damage and 50 crit chance: 195 DPS. Then, if the enemy has 40 defence, it would be: Normally: 80 DPS Then 100 damage: 180 DPS Then 100 crit chance: 160 DPS too. It all depends on the type of weapon you have and the amount of dmg p/s i personally prefer lucky as it simply works well with my sniper which has 303dmg. So the choice isn`t really hard, base damage on weapon is far superior on mobs/bosses, generally in pve. But 50 damage and 50 crit chance: 225 DPS. Now remove a armor piece and see what damage reduction you get from going from 100 to 90 armor, not a lot i promise you. Now if a boss have 100 armor the damage reduction from armor would be much less, i dont remember but its easily checked in-game, put on some light armor and see if you have around 100 armor and what damage reduction you get, i guess arround 10% damage reduction. This is not bad, and thats why in pvp the spiked will shine. This means that 10% armor pen would give you 7,5% more dps on that target ok? In Pvp this will make a huge difference, 800 armor give you 75% damage reduction right? This means you will get 10% of this gone, down to 90 armor, do you really think that will show on any damage what so ever? I dont understand this really, what do you need armor pen for on a boss that have only 100 armor? Titanium Armor Stats: +49 Defense, +15 Melee Damage, +14 Crit Chance. I like to boost the Critical Chance somewhere up into the 5075 (or higher) range. For Warriors and Rogues my Primary Focus is Critical Chance > Critical Damage. For masterwork, my favorite is always gain guard on hit just for the sake of survivability on nightmare. For pve and what u seek to do (killing bosses) id go for spiked fitting… more pen means easier dmg. For attack stat, my favorite is bonus crit and armor penetration.
